Backyard bonfires with Duraflame OUTDOOR Firelogs
Hey all!
Hoping this spring season is treating you all well and letting you get out for some fresh air close to home. Spring in the northeast is more like a second winter, with cold temps, snow flurries and freezing rain...so the cabin fever has been exceptionally high lately! However, every now and then, the weather graces us with a bluebird sky and temps above 50 degrees. We had one such day recently, and took full advantage of it with a little backyard bonfire!
Now that the weather is getting a little warmer, I’m SO grateful for the fire pit we have here at the family cabin! Campfires have a way of bringing things together, and since they currently can’t bring a crowd, this one in particular had us reminiscing about our favorite memories from past camping trips and road trips. I’m sure most of you know by now how much I love Duraflame firelogs (they’re lightweight, not messy and much better for the environment than traditional wood - what’s not to love?!), so we decided to use some of their OUTDOOR firelogs for our spring celebration.
One of the best things about Duraflame’s OUTDOOR firelogs (and all their firelogs, honestly) is how incredibly easy they are to light. Using just a couple logs to start, we configured them into an X, lit the wrappers and within just a few minutes we had a roaring fire!! On top of lighting faster and burning more efficiently than regular wood, the logs emit less smoke, particulate matter and carbon monoxide. They’re also amazingly efficient for their compact size. Using just three of the OUTDOOR firelogs had us enjoying our fire well after the sun set (three logs = about three hours of fire, the equivalent to a full 20lb. bundle of firewood!!).
Carrying just three firelogs makes them the perfect companion for future camping trips, especially since they aren’t restricted, like firewood, by movement between state and park borders. And they aren’t about to cramp my s’mores-making style (a MUST at camp!) These 100% renewable firelogs are safe for roasting campfire foods like marshmallows and hot dogs.
While this time at home definitely has me daydreaming of future road trips + camping adventures, I’m so happy we’re still able to enjoy the simple pleasure of having our little family gather around a roaring fire. Crossing my fingers for more warm weather evenings, so we can do it all again soon.
